Tour59 has evolved from a European tour support company and has now exploited this knowledge to develop its own unique products.
Jon Fitzpatrick has over 25 years experience as a PGA professional, coach and club maker and has used his expertise alongside the best engineering skills Britain has to offer to develop an outstanding range of products.
Jon is a master craftsman when it comes to wedge fitting and grinding and has honed his knowledge by watching and listening to many of the world’s short game masters through his work on the European and U.S tours. By combining the feedback he has received from these players as well as countless handicap golfers with years of research, Jon creates beautiful golf clubs that perform.
Jon was born in England in 1967. His mother, Hilary, took up golf in 1979 and left a few clubs around the house...- “Before we knew it the whole house had the bug..." and his passion for golf was born.
While playing and turning professional at 17, Jon worked for Paul Milton at Surbiton Golf Club as an assistant where his club making skills began to show.... - "Paul had a small workshop which fascinated me, whenever I wasn't playing I was taking a club apart, rebuilding my own equipment or experimenting with using different materials, we used to grind our own aluminium inserts to put into our persimmon woods, we picked up about 20 yards, this was years before anyone even saw a metal wood....-"
"-Paul was a true professional, a good player and I’d never seen anyone with a short game like his, this started my fascination with technique and how clubs work which lasts to this day....-"
"-Over the many years I spent playing professional golf, I was amazed at how much of the equipment myself and my fellow professionals were trying to play with which was completely unsuited and the more I looked into what was behind the equipment and the quality which was available the more ideas I developed about the kind of equipment brand I wanted to produce...-"
Jon has based his Tour59 trailer at The Grove since 2008, with its wonderful range and short game facilities accurate fitting and building wedges to suit a players game is a pleasurable experience "- We waited nearly two years to be able to base ourselves at a facility which would offer players of all standards from handicap to tour level the ability to test equipment in an environment as close as possible to tournament golf.... with The Grove our dreams came true....-"
